Intermediate Architectural Designer

MVA is looking to immediately add a new full or part time member to our growing team. Our ideal candidate would be a designer/ AutoCAD draftsman with education and several years experience in the architectural or construction industries. Applicant should have a strong attention to detail and representation, knowledge of typical residential construction techniques, and comfortable with basic project management skills. Job Responsibilities:

  • Applying knowledge of design, construction detailing, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials and systems.

  • Produces conceptual plans, renderings, schedules, and documents.

  • Plans and programs layout of project(s); coordinates and integrates engineering elements into unified design for client/contractor review and approval.

  • Utilizes computer-assisted design software and equipment to prepare project designs and plans.

  • Produces construction documents in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.

  • Works in tandem with other team members to assist with multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Assists in research and coordination of materials and products for project schedules and specifications.

Office Information, Compensation, and Benefits:

  • MVA is currently in office full time. Working from home is possible, but must be willing to work in office to review project responsibilities each week.

  • Compensation will be based on the qualifications of the applicant. Range: $45-$75K Full Time Equivalent (paid hourly).

  • Full time or part time position available.

  • Includes 6 Paid Holidays, Sick Time, and Vacation Time.

Recommended Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction, or similar field.

  • 3+ years of architecture, engineering, construction experience or similar field.

  • Understanding and knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, building construction, building systems and site requirements.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite.
